What We Do and Why We Exist

The blank can be filled in with anything. Almost anything you can think of, ZEI has the technology and know-how to make it happen. Want heat and water in an emergency? Done. Want a hydrogen-powered toaster? Check. Does your country want to transition from an energy importer to energy exporter? Our tech makes that happen.

Our work with hydrogen has two purposes.

Our first purpose involves typical uses, such as fuel for fuel cells which provide power for cars, trucks, buildings, etc. The advantages of hydrogen power are many. Some examples: hydrogen can be produced anywhere the sun shines or the wind blows, it is non-toxic and easily transportable, and when used it produces no pollution, only water. In these areas we focus on the core technologies that enable everyone to benefit from it. This involves solving the complex technical problems that contribute to today’s high cost and low adoption rates.

Purpose 1: We solve the problems of using hydrogen, to bring hydrogen to all.

Our second purpose involves taking advantage of hydrogen’s unique properties. Looking at hydrogen as a substance, it is an element that is found in nearly everything in the universe. It is extremely light, has a very low boiling point, no odor and no color, high dispersion, high specific heat, high thermal conductivity, etc. These unique properties can be leveraged to solve a wide variety of problems both on and off our planet.

Purpose 2: We solve problems by using hydrogen, to make a better life for all

Implicit in each of these purposes is our belief that everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of hydrogen regardless of location, socio-economic status, training or expertise, or other factor. There are many barriers to achieving this kind of widespread adoption. Our technologies and know-how systematically break down those barriers and help us achieve our twin purposes.
